What is corneal opacity?
The cornea is normally a transparent and regular structure. Various diseases (congenital and acquired) and trauma can cause a focal or diffuse loss of transparency. For various reasons (infection or trauma), scars appear on the cornea. These scars are opaque and make vision difficult.
How is it diagnosed?
It is detected through an eye examination.
Symptoms
If these scars affect the visual axis, i.e. they are in front of the pupil, they cause blurred vision.

FAQs
Most patients who suffer rejection of a corneal transplantation experience reduced vision. Other symptoms include the appearance of foreign bodies and being dazzled or bothered by light.
The patient should avoid strenuous activities and, in particular, avoid direct trauma to the eye.
