Glaucoma pathology
Glaucoma or related pathologies affect the optic nerve, whose health is vital for maintaining good vision. A higher than usual pressure in this “cable” that connects the eye and the brain can affect the way visual information is transmitted, and therefore, glaucoma is one of the main causes of vision loss. This pathology is frequent in older adults, but can be found in all ages.
Glaucoma treatment
The treatment of glaucoma is complex, since the deterioration of vision is very gradual. From this point on, it is of great importance to have periodic check-ups, as well as good information from the specialist, who will choose the most appropriate treatment according to the case. Treating glaucoma in the right way and at the right time can prevent irreversible damage to vision.
