Professional career
Dr Marco Sales is a member of the Oculoplastic Department at IMO Grupo Miranza Madrid and head of the Oculoplastic Section within the Ophthalmology Department at Ramón y Cajal University Hospital in Madrid. He is a clinical professor at the University of Alcalá and researcher at IRYCIS.
He specialises in the medical and surgical treatment of eyelid and orbital diseases and disorders, as well as cosmetic surgery of the area around the eyes (blepharoplasty). These diseases include: eyelid malposition (such as drooping eyelids), orbital inflammation (including thyroid-associated orbitopathy), orbital and eyelid tumours, and tear duct disease.
He took a fellowship in Orbital-Cranial-Facial Surgery at Hôpital Foch in Paris (2008), and complete terms in the Oculoplastic and Orbital units at Sao Geraldo Hospital in Belo Horizonte (Brazil), Amsterdam Medical Center in Amsterdam (Holland), and the Samsung Medical Center in Seoul (South Korea).
