Why do the MIR residency at IMO Grupo Miranza?
- We are an international benchmark clinic in ophthalmology, with several decades of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases.
- We feature 24,000 square metres dedicated exclusively to eye health as well as the following facilities, among others:
- 8 operating theatres.
- 1 Wet Lab of our own, which is integrated into the surgical area, where our students and co-workers can learn surgical techniques and attend master’s classes given by members of our medical team.
- 60 consulting rooms.
- 1 in-house molecular biology laboratory, where ambitious basic researchprojects are carried out to find cures for currently untreated diseases.
- During the MIR residency, you will always be supervised by our team’s ophthalmologists, who sub-specialise in different parts and/or diseases of the eye.
- Our medical staff includes internationally renowned ophthalmologists, who are trailblazers in surgical techniques and who have contributed to the development of surgical and diagnostic equipment, as well as instruments to perform eye surgeries.
- You will also have a tutor, who will guide you throughout your training and will meet with you on a regular basis. The aim of all this is to ensure that you feel supported throughout the learning process and that you can make the most of your 4 years of residency.
Selection process
The medical residency is a compulsory requirement to obtain the title of medical specialist in Spain, whereas the Spanish Ministry of Health regulates the training of resident doctors through specialised health training. Access to these positions is gained by means of entrance exams (MIR exam) and the subsequent public allocation of a position, following the Ministry’s criteria, which are published in the BOE (Official State Gazette) each year.
For more details about the MIR positions we offer or if you have any questions about the residency process at IMO Grupo Miranza, please do not hesitate to send an e-mail to secretaria.docencia@imo.es or fill in the form.
