What does it involve?
Trabeculectomy is the most common glaucoma drainage surgery.
When is it carried out?
It is used to reduce intraocular pressure when treatment with ocular hypotensive drugs is not sufficient and the condition is advancing.

Comprehensive eye examination.
Before the surgery
It can be performed as a single procedure or combined with cataract surgery.
Surgery
It consists of creating a route through which aqueous humour can escape from the anterior chamber to the subconjunctival space by means of a subconjunctival filtering bleb.
