What does it involve?
This technique is used to improve and correct the dark circles under the eyes. Although usually associated with the presence of bags, the removal of fat can worsen the appearance of the circles. This technique relocates the prolapsed fat to remove the furrow created by the circles.
When is it carried out?
It is indicated for cases of dark circles under the eyes and fat protrusion.
Prior examination
A comprehensive eye and eyelid examination is required.
Before the surgery
Patients should not take anticoagulants or aspirin before surgery.
Surgery
The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia and sedation.
Risks
Paraesthesia (a feeling of tingling or numbness) can occur in the mid-face area, which is spontaneously resolved.
