What does it involve?
These techniques involve the removal of surface layers of skin in order to create new tissue and, in turn, cause collagen fibres to contract, which gives the skin a firmer, more youthful appearance.
When is it carried out?
It is indicated for patients with fine wrinkles and mild to moderate excess skin in the lower eyelids.
Prior examination
A comprehensive eye and eyelid examination is required. The surgery procedure is performed under local anaesthesia and sedation.
Before the peeling
Exposure to the sun is contraindicated during the postoperative period, but this varies according to the type of peeling performed. This is due to the fact that the sun can cause pigmentation in the treated area and in the cell regeneration process.
Risks
There are no significant risks to take into account.
